Comrade Rockstar (BBC Films/Arena)

comrade rockstarReggie's fascination for "The Red Elvis", Dean Reed, led not only to her book but to making her first documentary film with director Leslie Woodhead. The film, made in 1992 for HBO/BBC charts her as she moves from East Berlin to Moscow in search of the true story behind the American pop singer who was unknown at home in the USA, but who, from the 1960s until his mysterious death in 1986, was the biggest star in the Soviet Union.

‘Saving Jazz’  (2006)

Saving JazzIn 2006 I produced "Saving Jazz" with director Leslie Woodhead, about one of our heroes, the great jazz photographer Herman Leonard. Leonard  lost thousands of his historic prints when Hurricane Katrina flooded his house in New Orleans where Jazz was born. Made over a year, the film follows the efforts of Leonard and the city to bring the music back to New Orleans.

Tony Bennett's New York (2004)

Saving JazzTony Bennett has always been one of the great (jazz) loves of my life… so I was thrilled to be able to take part in a documentary on his life and talk to the great man about his career and his love of New York - a passion we both share.

"While Tony Bennett may have left his heart in San Francisco, don't think he doesn't love his hometown of New York City. This documentary video features the great vocalist answering questions about his life and career and taking in the sights of The City That Never Sleeps, intercut with concert footage of Tony wowing an audience in Atlantic City. Songs include "Rags to Riches," "For Once in My Life," "I Got Rhythm," "Just in Time," and many others." Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

"Godless in America"

Godless in AmericaIn 2006, I again teamed up with Woodhead to make "Godless in America", a film about the extraordinary life and mysterious death of Madalyn Murray O’Hair, who came to occupy a special place in the American psyche after her 1963 campaign to end compulsory prayer in US schools making her - in her own words - “the most hated woman in America” "Godless in America" charts her life, and gothic death and though it documents the plightplight of atheism in America.

"A fascinating story, powerfully told" - The Observer
"An entralling study" - The Independent
